Ackers is joined by clubmates Marc Sneyd and Kallum Watkins for the tournament, recognition for a fine domestic campaign.

Wane has also opted for experienced heads, with Mike Coper, Ryan Hall and Chris Hill making it.

Mike McMeeken makes it three Catalans Dragons players, alongside skipper Sam Tomkins and hooker Michael McIlorum.

While St Helens’ starlet Jack Welsby’s form in several positions has earned him a place, while back rower Joe Batchelor also gets the nod.

Clubmates Tommy Makinson, Morgan Knowles and Matty Lees are also in.

Wane has opted for six NRL players – Tom Burgess, Herbie Farnworth, Victor Radley, Luke Thompson, Elliott Whitehead and Dom Young.

Young’s inclusion – after he was set to play for Jamaica – justifies hos decision to move Down Under from Huddersfield.
